Small batch sewing – capsule collections and limited drops

Small batch sewing calls for an entirely different approach than mass production – a shorter technological regime, a larger share of hand work and more frequent machine changeovers. PRO Clo is one of the few Polish plants that take series of 50 to 100 pieces without pushing the unit price to a level a young brand cannot carry. That lets designers, streetwear labels and independent makers start production in Europe instead of hunting for subcontractors in Asia.

Who short runs suit

  • brands in the pre-launch phase testing the market, 50 to 200 pieces,
  • streetwear and premium brands with a drop model,
  • brands testing a new cut before full production,
  • companies ordering corporate or promotional clothing for a campaign,
  • makers producing collections under their own brand.

How a small series runs

We start with a prototype and a sample garment, on which we refine the pattern, proportions, freedom of movement and finishes. Once the sample is approved we prepare the cutting marker and move to production proper. The whole cycle – from placing the order to finished products – normally closes in four to eight weeks, depending on how complex the model is and whether the material is available.

What makes a small series more economical

The largest cost sits in production setup: technology, templates, sample making. If you plan several drops of the same model in different colours or prints, the documentation only has to be prepared once – later series are priced considerably lower. It also pays to combine several models in one order, to optimise the cutting marker and material usage.

Frequently asked questions

What is your minimum for short runs?

From 50 pieces per model and size. Below 50 pieces the unit cost rises quickly, because preparation – pattern, template, machine settings – dominates. For testing the market we recommend at least 50 to 100 pieces.

Can I order one model in several colours?

Yes. Repeating a model in another fabric colour is practically production alone – the documentation and patterns are already done. That is why this model is the most economical for streetwear brands with a drop calendar.

Do you sew jersey garments in small runs?

Yes – T-shirts, sweatshirts and dresses in cotton jersey and blends. Jersey cuts well in multiple plies, so its production is economical from 50 to 100 pieces.
